The cup holders aren't attached and the console isn't bolted down yet not to mention the back and top are missing. :)
It's a start and will be finished shortly with pics. I'm probably going to truck bed coat it which will make it look a little better covering up all those lines. It's going to be my trail truck soon so comfort and good looks aren't all that important to me anyway. Any suggestions for rear heater vent? I'm going to put a plank from the top straight to the floor and need something for the heater vent. I'm thinking just a rectangular hole for simplicity sake.

I'm going to mount a hard case on the side so I can take my 357mag Revolver with me especially when I go fishing. I usually use .38's which makes a good snake, turtle, or whatever gun when camping. The .38's are about half as loud as the 357 too but do the job just the same. I used to like to hunt but I'm not much for killing things anymore. I don't want people to get the wrong idea about the reason for the side compartment but it is for self protection also.

maybe you can find a flat mount dash vent from a junkyard car. that way, you can direct the air and also shut it off if wanted.
maybe go for a upolstered look w/ some vinyl and padding- simple stretch n staple. it might look nice next to the seats.

NEW pics

I finished a while back but couldn't get a camera until now. I also need to do another coat of truck bed liner since you can see the seams. I haven't mounted the gun yet though which is gonna take a little thinking.

Nice, but those sharp angles scare me - did you think about grinding them a little bit?

No-why?

The black color in the Alabama sun is way worse than a sharp corner:D

It's not meant to be a beauty queen. I know it's kinda ugly but it serves it purpose. Makes it look more rugged IMO.

I like the gun storage compartment. I'm going to remember that one.

He has a frickin gun in his truck and your worried about sharp angles? You guys are hilarious.

Non sequitur. If there are sharp angles and there is a wreck, someone could get hurt unnecessarily. The gun, if secured, is unlikely to spontaneously discharge.

Exactly what I was implying.

Maybe I will trim the corners or somehow make them smooth. I suppose it has potential to be hazardous.

Lets be honest that is one ugly MOFO of a console... Very useful but ugly as heck.

I love the gun compartment but it needs to be hidden better. Secret compartment

Aside from the gun compartment what is the advantage over stock?

I'm glad you agree with me but looks aren't everything. I could have made it look more like the typical--follow the same lines as the factory console--but I don't want my truck to look like everybody elses either. I challenge you walleyefisher to come up with a better design that can hold a .357cal revolver in a safe and an accessible position. Oh yeah and it has to work.:flipoff2:

Pepsi Challenge eh......I prolly take you up on it if I didnt have like 50 projects ahead of it

I wonder what the best way is to mount my M4 in the front row, any ideas? Just in case of SNIPER FIRE I want to make sure the M4 is handy.
