I recently bought a CPO 2017 GX460 and didn't waste anytime getting it out. Here's a shot from an overnighter with a good friend and his LC. I put on some 265/70/17 Wildpeak AT3s before the trip. I'm glad I did. Parts of the trail certainly tested my nerves. I do a lot of mountain biking and consider myself pretty good at picking lines. Those skills didn't translate too well to picking lines while behind a steering wheel. I had a blast though and am looking forward to getting out on some more camping and biking trips. This place has been a tremendous resource. Eventually, I'd like to get some sliders, better skids, and a small lift. I managed to put a little tear in the running boards, scrub the lower front spoiler, and put some dents in the factory skids. I'm thinking of trimming the front bumper to improve the approach angle - similar to what @Tex68w did with his build - and have a few questions.

I've already removed the lower front spoiler. The close up pics show the other items I'm thinking about removing, but wanted to check here first. These items include (1) left and right brackets connecting the lower portion of the bumper to the impact bar; (2) the three brackets attaching the lower cover to the impact bar; and (3) the lower cover. Is it OK to remove these pieces? Trimming the bumper would mean removing both the left and right brackets connecting the lower portion of the bumper to the impact bar. I'm a little concerned that this may cause the remaining upper portion of the bumper to eventually sag because there doesn't seem to be any other way it's supported on the bottom. I'm also not clear on how the plastic lining in the wheel well will be supported either as the plastic lining is secured to the bottom corner of the bumper. For those of you that have trimmed your front bumpers, is any of this a concern? Did you fashion other ways to support?

It has been a while since I did this mod but I am pretty certain that I removed all of the brackets.

You may want to also consider trimming your side steps (rocker panels) before you buckle them.
Although you should get some rock sliders first so you can trim them to fit. Rock sliders are not too much of a hit on the bank roll for a quick and easy mod.
