I showed it off at the CSC meeting on Friday...it had mixed reviews...bman noticed that some of my measurements were off so I invited him over to do some bending and see if he could do better. I see the first one I build as a mock up. I'll make another one after I've made all my mistakes on this one.

I'll try to throw up some addl pix on EP...This week I'm going to weld on light and antenna tabs...then it's off to testing it. I got my syn winch line last week so it should be ready to hit the trail this weekend.

although i didnt see it personally yet, i have the same complaint about yours that i always had about mine. those two upright tubes in the center,,, they look so tall and skinny. i had the same round tubes on mine and i always wanted to change it somehow to look more beefy but i could never figure out what to do that i liked. i am currently re-doing mine and wont make a hood hoop, i wish i had a large table plasma or laser cutter to make plate cuts easier, oh well.

whenever you build your own stuff you always open up for some ppls thoughts on what they dont like or what they would have done,,,, for the record, i think your bumper turned out great. or at least what i have seen of it.

Just jumping in to defend myself here. I never said I could do any better than what you did here. I also said that I thought it looks great and was giving you s*** about the angles just because I could. Hell, I hadn't even noticed it was crooked when I was givin ya a hard time about it.

My time will come. The 60 needs front and rear bumpers along with sliders too. Don't think you're getting off so easy as to not be helping with that buildup either buddy.

I do agree with Rhino though but never realized what it was until he pointed it out. I prefer the hefty look of vertical plates at the center rather than tubes. That said... I'll still probably end up with a tube setup similar to yours.

Either way, you've done a good job so far, now go beat it up.

Bman...no need to defend yourself...I screwed up on the DS corner. Build something like this you always find your own mistakes...on this build there are a lot. I didn't mean to make the challenge sound personal...Come on by anytime to build your bumper or sliders.

Regarding the center section...I don't like combining tube with plate. It looks weird to me. From the front of this bumper you don't see plate...only tube. Kevin is all about the plate there too but I want to test before I plate it. The angled plates that are down low and hopefully will be the first pieces to come in contact with rocks is .25" thick and server as a good bash plate.
