Turk, yes sir there will be a hoop. Bolt on low profile cross bar. I want the bumper to be completely modular. There will be gussets inside the wings as well. Winch plate will bolt to the top side of the frame with 6 bolts, wings will have 6 bolts, and bull bar will have 4. Completely bolt on and easily taken apart if needed. Like I said, if someone wants to change out the wings for whatever reason (damage from being crashed out, new look, etc) with this system you can. I dont think anyone else has something like this, maybe I'm wrong on that.
Haven't seen anything like it myself. I'm no cruiser veteran though. Even gets the approval from the ol :princess:....

But don't flatter yourself, she can barely tell the difference between an ARB and AOE.:flipoff2:

Is listen to Pantera Far beyond driven and feeling very creative...

I need a name for my little fab shop... building a website and registering with multiple agencies and what not but I need a name. Help me out guys.
Lash and Flash Fabrication

Lash is an Irish term for drinking session...Flash for obvious reasons.

Fabrication might be a stretch though

Looking very nice man........ I really like the idea of options and being able to repair section...

can't wait to see one all finished up....

From inside the wing. Fully welded inside and out

You can see from this picture I'm getting good penetration without burning out the metal

Buying a new Victor Fabricator 252i multi process machine soon. Needs some orders for racks hint hint. So my welds will look a little better with more control... hopefully :meh: All in all they look pretty good with no undercut and good penetration. Maybe @Booger weldz will weight in on what he see's in my welds.
Again I would sincerely like to thank @woody for the Forum and all that he does so we have a great place to come and talk about the greatest rigs ever made.
And to you guys for giving me the encouragement and support to take a huge chance on starting a little business and get back to working for myself again.... I missed it.

Thanks dudes, Jason

From inside the wing. Fully welded inside

Take this, welded out on the inside, and open all those joints with a grinder. Cut deep into it till your gouging into the crack line on the welding done on the opposite side. Then weld all of that out in a slow drag.

Essentially how 'real' welding is done where lives are at stack in hospitals and schools in the earthquake fault line here in Commifornia.

Yes sir, I cut all the tacks on the front side and grooved a v in the joints to lay a fill bead... sound right. I've already done that and am blending right now. Some day I might be able to spool your machine... :flipoff2:

Happy black booger day! I'm not grinding anything today except the old lady's hips! :D

Excited to hear pricing on this as I mangled my stocker last weekend. Still need to pull the trigger on a swing out first but both should be able to happen by Spring!!!

On a serious note, sweet bumper build coming from you and booger here. I'm excited to see some finished products.

Very nice of booger to send a design out like that for another member to build and potentially profit from. Under, you've got some great determination to get this business going. Best of luck man!

Thanks Rock. I really appreciate that man.

Well its done... its going to the powder coat'r on Monday. Guys this this looks slick. And I think the fact that its in 3 pieces and bolt on is priceless.
I should leave you guys hanging till Tuesday... but I'll have some pics up later tonight. Gotta take the wife out for supper. She's a little mad at me for being locking in the garage for the past 3 weeks...

Very nice work so far!

When I did my back bumper, I found those zirconia disks with a backing plate in the 4 1/2" grinder to be the s***. Try 36 grit to start, and go easy until you get a feel for how aggressive it is. I was sweeping up piles of grinding dust. I blended with flap wheels.

Strive for no holes or porosity in any welds that will be seen after you blend them. My powdercoater used some metal filled JB weld with decent success to fill up the ones I did have.

Looking good man, I love the idea of a modular bolt-on system, especially if it means you can belt out the same bumper in different widths for those of us that have ditched flares.

I've already snagged parts to relocate my drier to the engine bay and would love to ditch my ARB for one of these. I'm staying tuned!

Top right for a proper finished product, bottom left is worthless for polishing edges down squared off and not chewed up/wavy looking once painted.

What tool do you use to form your grooved V?

I really need some in put on the rack idea. Help me out guys.

My Tcase crossmember is made with those. Be nice to ship broken down and adds possibilities to deferent rack layouts.

Sooner than later your gonna find the issue with many welded bolt on items. Unless it's all built off the same exact jig or vehicle they never assemble the same once welded. The wings on a bumper may merely warp a 1/16 at the mount point, but 2' out at the ends that 1/16 can be 3/8". You'll see, just hoping it becomes apparent on your end, not a pissy ih8mud customer.

Nothing more to add except your aluminum butt plug is ready, just finished polishing the sharp edges off
