Hello everyone,

my suspension is going out in my daily driver and i am currently searching for part numbers for front and rear coil springs and shock absorbers for my KZJ78 and i am lost in trying to find them i am looking for a heavy set or constant load of rear coils and a medium set of front coil springs and front and rear shock absorbers, i am looking for just a 2 inch lift (50mm lift) that is all nothing too crazy, i know of brands like Dobinson's and ironman 4x4 tough dog suspension, and rabbitt4x4 but i am looking for cheaper brands and something that is decent for my suspension. i am looking for the part numbers for Bilstein and old man emu also rancho and pro comp so as coil springs as well. I'm wondering what set up and part numbers you everyone is running

Thanks Everyone!

Following. I'm in the same boat. No lift, no off-roading. But going over speed-bumps rattles your fillings. Looking for stock (non-electronic, non-lift, street only) shocks/springs.

Why don’t you contact said companies and ask them?

If the options you mentioned are too expensive, why don’t you email/pick up the phone and call the other suppliers you mentioned and ask them what options they have for your truck?

It’s really the best and easiest option versus asking 10,000 people what they think about a technical subject especially when you bring in the price point problem for you; That means there are going to be 25,000 opinions.

And you are in Japan: home of the Land Cruiser.

Have you reached out to the main suppliers in your region? Japan4x4? Flex Dream? Land Cruiser Base (which is supported by Toyota Auto Body)? Those would be the first places I would go.

Well here is the neat part , I have contacted them and the answer i get is "we do not supply parts for that vehicle" and maybe im asking the wrong person at that said company but im pretty sure i went to every website and contacted them even old man emu would not give me the sufficient information. I asked here because im pretty sure someone has ordered springs for their land cruiser 78 prados on here, so yes asking a forum is the best choice, because someone already went through that headache of ordering suspension maybe they could share the love to other military servicemembers who are stationed in japan in giving us information because we are limited to ordering parts since we live in a military base where shipping to an APO is limited to what we can send to the post office on a military base. So your input is greatly appreciated Thank you.

@AirheadNut posted part numbers for OME shocks in this thread Shock absorbers for lj78 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/shock-absorbers-for-lj78.1354856/post-15808015 . I realize this is for the LJ78 but I think the spec may be the same depending on the year ( but I may be wrong here ). If you do some digging on ARB's site I think you can still find the specs as far as eye to eye extend/compressed and then go to the bilstein site and find something comparable.
I went with a complete Ironman 4x4 kit for my LJ78 and I remember when I ordered it I had to contact Ironman to get the part #. 3 years later I still haven't installed any of it so next time I am at my shop I can at least post up those part numbers if you want. I know you werent really after Ironman stuff but Maybe you can use the specs to put a DIY kit together from other manufacturers.

After seeing the prices of new suspension and the condition of the spring plates on my axles I've decided to convert to air suspension with custom shocks. Air bags for Land Rover Discovery 2 should fit perfectly both front and rear with some spacers, and gives the same travel as a 4 inch lift. Mercedes 508 shocks are 62€ a piece and also matches the +4" travel, they have the wrong mounts and are a bit too short though so they require some modifying. The entire system except compressor (just connect it to the OBA) costs less than the cheapest 2 inch lift kit.
