Fits great on my Frontrunner rack. Used some bolts with security nuts along with some metal I had laying around. Wanted a low profile water tank. Needed a water tank because just received our Joolca V2 shower system last month. This week will be our first time using all of it.

I'm worried about those straps vibrating at highway speeds and damaging the solar panels. I see the buckles have coverings, but straps can vibrate a LOT on the roof.

Good call. They are the plastic frontrunner bungee straps so no metal. They are pretty tight and the metal edges are raised slightly above the solar area. That being said I'm going to wrap something around the plastic just to be safe. Thanks.

Does your Sat radio still work?

I would recommend mounting brackets from underneath only. Some of the same concerns above, but also because you don't want any shading at all to maximize performance. The bracket in the middle in particular could be trimmed back a bit.

Solar and shade is an interesting topic. This video may help.

Yes, just tested it.
Good to know. I changed how I had my solar panels on the rack and now I need to put my MaxTraxx to the back where your water is.

Yes bracket will be trimmed before the next trip

Ya definitely agree. Baselined it yesterday amd was getting 160-170 watts with full sun on the ground completely uncovered. Will see what I get while driving compared to that. If it is a huge hit I will uncover it. Will be in the Outer Banks for a week so once the truck and trailer hit the sand we won't move for at least 10 hours. Just don't have time to improve upon this right now. Leaving early tomorrow.

160-170 watts doing solid!

Even if performance is compromised somewhat, it'll still likely be plenty. 200W on a car is awesome stuff.

I'm looking at getting the ironman water tank that you have. Do you like it? Have you found a way to pressurize the water?

Yes I like it. Never tried to pressurize it. I just use gravity and have it refill a 5 gallon water can.
