I will be driving my FJ80 from Atlanta to Yellowstone at the beginning of May. I have to drop my copilot off in Denver airport on May 3rd and then i head to the park. I will be coming up I25 through Cheyenne, Casper, Cody and then in the west entrance. I figure the first night i will spend some place between Wheatland and Douglas depending on how tired i am. The next night i want to spend in Cody. I have a sleeping platform in my 80 and can easily sleep at a Walmart or rest stop. But something prettier is always welcome. I will have all my backpacking gear, tents and all. But i would rather just sleeping the truck. But still it would be nice to be someplace pretty and pull out the camping stove for coffee in the morning. Unfortunately cash will be tight so i cant do pay camping sights. But places like national forests with pull offs or other free places to discreetly camp would be great. Any tips would be great. If not i will just hit up a rest stop which will work just fine.

PS if there is any really pretty nice "sights" to bee seen along that way let me know. Maybe i could stop and eat lunch someplace nice. If all goes well i might have a extra day to kill near Cody.

You definitely will have fun in Cody. Irma's is a must see. We stayed at the KOA in a cabin in early June 2006 due to the cooler weather. I am not too familiar with any pull off spots, but I suppose there may be someone ringing in with some info on that. AFAIK, most of the area out there is pretty barren.

If you want to meet for lunch and talk cruisers somewhere in the Fort Collins area along I-25 on the 3rd, let me know. There are a few good spots near the Crossroads exit. Hooters, Carl's Jr., The Boot Grill, Palomino's, Qdoba, Nordy's BBQ and of course, Perkin's.

I might take you up on that offer. I have a copilot that is driving with me out to Denver. I will drop them off around 1-2pm at the airport then head north. I am not sure what my schedual will be like from there heading north. But it might be fun to meet up for lunch or what not.
