Hey guys, I'm not a 100 guy, but have a friend with a 2000 with a broken frame bracket where the right sway bar bushing bolts up. It seems the AC condenser drain drips directly onto the bracket aiding our midwest salt to rust and weaken the bracket. I don't think there's enough bracket left to reweld to the frame.

Was there ever a recall for this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Matthew

You might help those looking by posting a few pictures. Feel sure there is an easy fix.

I had the same problem. I had a buddy fab up angle iron with gussets and a couple of holes. Ground down what was left of the existing bracket and welded on the new one. Prime, paint, and reinstall new hardware.

I have the same problem and could not locate a replacement bracket to replace it. Planning on taking it to a fab shop and have them do the work. The driver's side bracket is just fine and you can watch the A/C drain in action dripping right on top of the sway bar bracket through the engine compartment. I also agree this is clearly a defect of some degree and should be covered.

It's called maintaining your vehicle. I hear if you never wash your vehicle the paint will go bad. Guy must never of got under his rig and noticed the rust and do something about it. I better shut up or knock on wood, before I go out and roll under my 100 and see if I missed this spot ;)
