I located some M101A2 trailers for sale. One of them has the hoops $1200 and the other 3 don't $1000. All have new or close to new rubber.
This looks like a different trailer than the m416 style. What is the differences? Would it make a good camping trailer to tow behind my FJ55?
Any info would be helpful.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllll...that depends...
I'm guessing that the towing capacity of the 55 is 3500?
My T4R is 5000lbs towing cap. I'm adding Airlift 1000 bags, and planning on my trailer to be around 270 lbs tongue weight, which will be under the recommended 500 lbs.
I think the empty weight is 1200-1300lb. They would make a wonderful camping trailer, but it's twice the empty weight of the 416. Mine rolls so nice you would never even know it's there. It's already set up with a SOA, and will handle anything you could throw at it. Some guys use them for dump trailers for around the yard (better selling point for dealing with the

) They do have hand brakes. There's a guy named Craig over at Expo doing a very clean axle swap and some nice additions, and keeping it somewhat original.

When I did my axle swap, so I could have electric brakes, I ordered a 3" dia. tube, which almost doubled the price, but all the M116A2 hardware was an exact swap out, including the original spring perches and shock mounts....very, very painless and easy to do. (I have never done anything like this before)
I have a nice design with a pull out sleeping pod and lift up roof

if you wanna go crazy....not that I would know anything about that...
Here's a nice pic and description
