Hey Guys I found this LX and it looks good but before I talk to the parents I want to ask if anyone can tell any problems that I may be missing. Yes I realize its a little too expensive but thats something that can be dealt with. Thanks in advance guys!!!

Wow that is a nice LX. Make sure you actually see the carfax papers. And often cars with that low of miles were owned by people who kept all records of the maintenance. Ask them for all the paper work they have. It will give you a heads up on what is coming down the pipe for maintenance.
Did you say your parents are paying for it? Man I'm jealous! Good for you man it looks like a score all around.

seems a little high - especially since it doesn't look like it has front or rear lockers. IMHO

Just to point out the add says something about an lx 470. Probably not a problem but there are a lot of scams out there and little details can make a big difference sometimes. Again probably nothing but just pointing that out.

Antenna mast is broken...tell em to knock $100 off for that..;)

j/k

Hope it works out well for you. Looks nice!

Just so you know, it's about $2k to retrofit or install aftermarket lockers.

I pulled a carfax for you and one piece of advice "STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR":

1 - 09/13/1999 >> Accident reported Involving a front impact or collision
2 - 2/4/10 >> INCONSISTENT ODOMETER READING. Looks like it was rolled back 28K

Keep on looking my brother. :)

Just read this after buying it... the autocheck didn't report this. It showed 2 previous owners. This makes me a bit flustered but I'm glad I talked him down quite a bit from the asking price.

YIKES!!!

I would have been tweaked, but hopefully it's still a nice rig for the price you've paid!

GOOD LUCK!!

Do you have a buyer’s remorse clause in your state? This maybe something to look into especially if the seller was untruthful about an accident or the title was wrong?
Edit: If that's a dealer and they didn't tell you it was in an accident you may have legal recourse.

What's your email address? I will send you the carfax for your records.

I can't speak for your state but in CO you sign an odometer statement when buying the vehicle that states the odometer is accurate. If you did the same then you may have an arugement to return the truck. Or get an additional discount. All and all for most dealers its more important to keep a happy customer in this type of case even though it may not look like it on the surface.

If you signed an odometer statement indicating accurate mileage then take that and the carfax back to the dealership and talk with the owner or general manager. Probably should research your state's laws first. I would not bother talking about the accident. No laws against repairing a vehicle. If you could not tell before you bought it, it was probably fixed right to begin with. The truck was 3 years old at the time. Probably repaired with OEM parts on someones insurance. Who cares?

I agree CORBET, the accident was no major issue I looked over it real well looking for paint variation and body pull marks but it looked all well. Drives great, I just flushed all the fluids and put on some. The car is from the S.FLO just like myself.

305/70/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers

Rides NICE!!! I'm going to need a new throttle cable that's why the gas pedal seems a tad heavy. My opinion, I will see.

Also, came with no jack or jack instruments.... So I need to get that to remove the tire and put on a new grapler on the spare.

Will a 305 tire fit under the 80 series???

Just to set your mind at ease about that mileage discrepancy...I've been in the car biz for over a decade and manage 2 dealerships in NM. There are a multitude of reasons for a discrepancy on CarFax NOT relating to someone actually rolling back the odometer. CarFax relies simply on info they collect from local DMVs, insurance companies, etc... and this info is not always completely accurate or reliable (and frankly its often deceiving). For example, how many people do you think renew their registration or apply for a duplicate title and just 'estimate' the actual miles on their vehicle? (A LOT) not to mention, service departments and body shops that make simple mistakes when recording mileage. It is fairly tough to actually alter odometers these days (but, yes, it CAN be done...usually by swapping instrument clusters). Bottom line, over the years, Ive seen many many 'discrepancies' on CarFax and I can count on 1 hand how many of those vehicles I actually believed even had a chance of being victims of foul play.

So...congrats on the purchase! Looks like an awesome rig.

I agree with the above. Carfax is only a tool for researching the history of a vehcile. They are almost worthless IMO. I don't know how many cars/trucks I sold that I knew were in wrecks but the accident never showed up on Carfax. The marketing dept at CarFax is much bette than the product. They have everyone believing its as good as gold.

Bottom line is a good visual inspection will always be better than Carfax.
