In Denver CO today I found a new arrival 63 FJ40 at Colorado Auto Salvage on South Santa fe drive. The engine and power train are missing, and I took the Saginaw steering setup for myself, however here is whats left:

Hard top and doors, primo condition (forest green) doors look and work great. Inlcuding the rear two piece gate.

Dashboard knobs

Front disc axel, with all parts. Looks like a mini conversion, and something else weird here: The axel has two verticle dampers that attch to the lower frame rails, these are in addition to the normal shocks. IN obvios needs of an overhaula, but nevertheless complete. This looks to be a very early front axel with a conversion, this axel does not have a mount for a steerging stabilizer, howver has an add on damper.

Rear coil over setup, complete coil over system of unknown origin, looks pretty solid and certinaly unique.

Windsheild fram, wiper motor.

Rear bech seat, also in really good condition, no rips or holes. Possibly aftermarket?

Roll bar complete with padding.

HUGE rear bumper with integrated trailer hitch system.

There are many other pieces, this is just an FYI for someone else, I took what I wnated the Saginaw conversion, the rest is up for grabs.

Fenders, bezel all in good condition, no rust visable.

doesthe bezel have LAND CRUISER stamped into it?? if so I'd be really interested. are the half doors any good are you gonna take them?

It did not have the half doors :( Sadly they were the only part missing, this has a two piece lift hatch, looks like it folds up like a accordian. In fact it worked very well when I folded it up. And no the bezel had the emblem on it, the kind you take off. Must have been changed out at some point.

I also neglected to mention that its pretty well covered in diamond plate. At first I thought it was covering rust, but the quarters and rockers were in fine condition.

Scott,
If the rear bench is the old conferr style type, I am interested and will toss some cash your way if you can shoot me pics and if it works, buy it and send it my way. Feel frr to pm me and I will call you directly.

Yea, I am going back for the seat tomorrow will send some pics. I had way to much to carry between the steering system, brake calipers and rear tire hanger that I grabbed off of it.

How about the rear doors(lower half's)?

The only body part(s) missing was the lower doors, or looked like it was a door in this instance. I would have grabbed those if they were there :)

FWIW, the 63 doors will not work on anything but a corugateed top 40, which is up to 65.

no cruiser axle has the mount for a steering damper, its on the frame and the tie rod(or whatever that thing is)

there was a forward facing rear seat option, never seen one in real life, prolly aftermarket......but ya never know ;)

I could use the heater valve as well as the dash knob/cable for the valve.

I would call them it's

Colorado Auto & Parts
2151 W Radcliff Av
Englewood CO, 80110

Parts of the heating system were missing, parts were there. Pretty sure the dash control was there, most of the knobs were, even the T-case pull knob was on the dash.

Sorry right, this did not have a damper mount anywhere that I could see. A Rancho Steering stabalizeer was bolted on using that universal bracket that you see all the time.

And it was a corugateed top, and matching doors to be exaxt, everything is there and in good condition, with exception of the headliner.

As for the seat, I would be almost certain it was aftermarket. It had seat belts from some other vehicle that bolted to the very center of the metal rail on the lower seat back.

63 would have no heater valve per say, what it would have is mounted to the lower rad hose and just shuts the water off from the heater. No Warm Pull......

prolly even if it has a heater is aftermarket
