I have been contacted by Samantha Gooch, the outdoor coordinator for the Pike National Forest office to report the number of volunteer hours worked from the period starting 1 October 2024 to present. The Forest Service accumulates the data from all organizations that volunteer hours of work to the local forest. That information is provided to the national office to help secure or preserve funding.

To date I have:
312 hours of volunteer time from the Christmas tree cutting patrols.

1/19/25 42 hours Shubarth "trail inspection"
2/8/25 18 hours Platte River Springs "trail inspection"
3/8/25 28 hours Longwater gulch "trail inspection"

COS80 50 hours
SAS 31 hours
GOSLOW 45 hours
LCPILOT 6 hours

If you have cleaned up a campsite or patrolled a Forest Service area, Ferried people for a cleanup, attended a Pikes Peak Forest trail ride, reply to this post.

Please let me know the hours so I can add them to this header and include them to my report.

A trail inspection is when you drive a Forest Service road and you observe the condition on the trail. Look for washouts, downed trees, abandoned vehicles unauthorized trails, anything that makes the trail hazardous, in need of repair or impedes the ability to others to enjoy the trail. If you see a problem you report the problem to the correct Forest Service office. The inspection can be performed individually or in a group.
