Ford Diesel 6.0L...give me input

Does anyone know much about the Ford V8 Diesel 6.0L circa 2006?

A friend is looking into a 4x4 Van conversion with one of these...to convert
to run on grease.

Any input would be appreciated....

GOod trucks overall, but like anything they have their own issues. They have EGR issues, turbo issues and recalls, and injector/headgastet issues. Those are the ones I have heard of, I am in the process of looking for one myself.

ive got an 04 and it has been a really good truck....LOTS of power. tell him to look in on thedieselgarage.com there is a ton of info on everything diesel. i have heard that the 6.0 vans have cooling issues, because of the engine compartment design and something about the fenders.

Like mud for Ford diesels.

Think the head gasket issue was resolved by 06. Variable vain turbos don't handle high miles like the fixed ones and need quality air filtration.

Not sure if the 6.0s have the HEUI injectors, but I've been told they are temperamental about fuel quality and home brew bio, WVO, WMO. Not sure about the grease. Have them on my 7.3 and only run virgin stock bio.
