Bosch starter for FZJ80...needs new contacts/rebuild-$35
FJ Cruiser OEM rear springs-$50 (can use to lift rear of four runner I believe)
Set of four dollies to roll truck around shop, all steel-$50

I am officially in the market for an 80 series!

My only 2 Requirements:

Factory F+R diff locks
no rust

Other than that I am pretty much open to anything 94-97 range. Let me know if anything comes up for sale in the area.
1997 locked, I know nothing more than the ad. Good luck.

Thanks for the head's up , I might check that one out, looks pretty clean.
On the 80 board, someone mentioned they paid over $10K for an 80, and most people lit him up. He said after folks fix everything they need to on an 80, they end up spending about $5K anyway. Having bought a cheap 80 (locked), I've spent a butt-load fixing things and i'm still not there. By doing so, I've learned a lot, but my long and drawn-out point is spending a little more to get a clean (and locked) one isn't a bad choice. Keep us posted.

P.S. What's with the turtle?

I've seen some really nice 80's sell for for $10k plus. it seems they are increasing in value. This will be my 2nd 80 series, I had a locked LX450 that i sold about 5 years ago. I have regretted it ever since, and I am finally in a position where I can buy one again. I know to expect to spend at least $2k in maintenance as soon as I get it, but since I do all my own work, at least I am just paying for parts. I would probably do the HG as a preventative maint. on whichever one I get, unless it has ridiculously low miles or a documented HG job done already. Hopefully I can find a competent machine shop in the area that can refresh the head for me.

as for the turtle, i chose it a long time ago, and never changed it. I guess it symbolized how I felt when I hit the gas pedal in my old 80 series. :D

That's pretty darn clever...now I'll be really impressed if you can find a turtle with an empty wallet.
