For Sale Vermont: 1984 FJ60 $2300

Unfortunantly I must sell my Cruiser. Its an 84 with 277K miles, suposedly the engine was rebuilt a little over 60k ago, but I cant confirm that. The frame was replaced with a rust free FJ62 frame that was POR-15ed (see link in sig for buildup) The body is in not so good shape. I've cut out and welded in new metal around the rear wheel wells. The roof in the back is pretty rust but there arent any holes. The lower quarters are rotten, but I was going to chop the quarters which would get rid of all the rust. I cut the rockers off because of rust. All the doors except for the drivers rear are in great shape. It comes with an almost rust free drivers rear door to replace it. The engine runs pretty well but it has a knocking sound coming from the bottom end and one of the studs on the manifold where the downpipe bolts on sheared and needs to be drilled out. It comes with a new gasket for that joint. It has long AALs and 33in Mud Kings with half tread left. I Herculined along the lower body line. It has 4 runner calipers up front. It has a custom build front bumper made from 2x6 .250 wall steel. It has 2.5in Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. It has urethane bushings and greasable shackles and spring pins.

FJ62 frame- $650
Tires- $250
Calipers-$250
Misc. parts (AALs, shackles, gaskets, etc) $425
Front bumper-100 for steel
Pro Comp shocks- $150
4 Crawler urethane body bushings- $150

Thats almost $2000 in modifications and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

I'm asking $2300 WITHOUT the Hella 500 driving lights.

Here are a few pictures from a couple months ago. Please check the thread for pictures of the work done.

New price $2000

That looks like my old 60. It was originally brown, but I had it repainted 1995 Toyota maroon back in 1996. The motor should be a 1980 2F, which was rebuilt at 232,000 miles. It had the original frame back then, and is from Colorado. Wonder if that's it? Ned

Wow, I'll have to look into that. I bought it from a person in Northampton MA. Maybe thats who you sold it to? I dont see any build date on the engine, only "2F 450619" stamped onto it. Did you paint the 2F black on the valve cover when it was rebuilt?

I was noticing your sig. Is the 2F presumably in mine out of the 80s 40 and then the 40 has the 60s 2F?

Exactly, the 2F in the 60 cracked a ring when it overheated one night driving back from Boston. The 2F out of the 40 was just rebuilt, so i swapped them. Then got the 60's 2F rebuilt, put it in the 40, etc. Had the 60 repainted when I lived in WV, never liked the brown color. It's a 1995 Landcruiser color,. some babe down in Summersville had a 95 she used to cruise in. Thought she and it looked pretty good. The guy who did it did a super job, painting everything so you couldn't tell it wasn't made that way, except it wasn't a 1984 color. No, I did not paint the valve cover black, nor did I paint the black trim. It was all maroon when I owned it. I did mount the spare in the back, like you have it, when the spare tire winch rusted out. :cheers:Ned

Jeez sounds like that must be your old cruiser...want to buy her back? :D

Were you the original owner?

I was not the original owner, I bought it in Colorado with 85,000 miles in 1990 and drove it east, think I was owner #2. Had it for 10 years and simply got tired of driving it. No thanks, don't want it back, in fact I just sold my 40. One cruiser is enough at this point. But, good luck selling it. :cheers:Ned
