I'm buying a new house and FrankenSix must go.
This is a cosmetically challenged '74 40 that I did a frame-off
reconstruction of, less than a thousand miles ago. But those miles have stretched from 1998.
The original F block was replaced with a '78? 2F block rebuilt with new pistons, cam, oil pump. Crank and rods balanced.
The idea for this combo came from Mark Whatley on the Land Cruiser mailing list. 74F head on a 2F block bumps the compression to about 9.5 to 1.
Other goodies in the rebuild, header, custom exhaust, Weber carb, she pulls very hard for a 2F.
At the same time I put custom long springs from Alcan (5" lift), shackle reversal in the front. The front axle is 3" forward of stock, the rear axle is 5" aft of stock. Front drive shaft is a custom long travel piece.
Front axle has a Lock-Right, rear axle is open after lunching a Lock-Right.
Its' roll cage is an exoskeleton 2" x.120" wall DOM tubing, heavily gusseted where it attaches to the frame. Hard top was traded away, it now runs with a gray Tiger Top. Has matching full and half doors and a bikini top.
Front axle has had a MiniTruck disc brake swap done.
Interior has the front seats recovered last year with replacement vinyl from Cool Cruisers. Tuffy console in the center. Rear seats were replaced with older(pre roll bar) longer seats. you can seat three across each side on these. Inside was painted with dark red Herculiner.
Warn 8274 is mounted on a custom front bumper. (inclusion is negotiable)
All I've done with it the last few years is keep the battery charged and start it up and drive to the corner shop occasionally. I built it to be a trail rig and I did make it up Helicopter Pad at Tellico in her.
I put a lot of time and money into this rig, but lost the urge to wheel a while back. New home causes me to finally have to do something with it.
(edit) Just remembered, I replaced the Burfields with Newfield Heavy Duty joints.
Asking $5000
I'm located in Peachtree City, GA just south of Atlanta.
