SOLD!!! 1993 4Runner Turbo Diesel 3.0 Liter One Owner

SOLD SOLD SOLD :) I will pull all of this down as soon as I figure out how to. Thanks for looking, but most importantly, thanks to a good customer who came through. Outstanding.

1993 4Runner 4 x 4 for sale by original owner. $11,000 OBO. Several years ago, I had a complete diesel swap done by TVR Automotive in Tuscaloosa. The person who did it is a former Toyota Tech and the job he did is awesome. It looks factory stock with factory alloy wheels. Externally, the vehicle has a TJM T 15 bumper/bull bar which is very nice. Class III receiver in the back. Bilsteins all around and upgraded springs in the back to eliminate the factory sag they all came with. The motor is a 3.0 liter 4 cylinder. Model code y-kzn130w-gkpqt. Automatic transmission with tow mode and 4 x 4. Vehicle is left hand drive, which is quite nice. Interior is stock including factory AM/FM Cassette except for a four point racing harness and removable headrest I installed for the rear seat middle passenger (for safety). That upgrade is easily removed as I saved the original belts. New BFG 31" All Terrain tires. The motor is a turbo with a KN airfilter and a factory stainless exhaust, installed when the diesel was fitted. Currently making it spiffy to sell as we have purchased another brand new 4Runner and are looking to buy one more after we sell the '93. This has been a wonderful truck and I'm totally sold on Toyota quality. The vehicle is quiet, on par with a nice TDI or Mercedes and doesn't clatter and thunk like Dodge, Chevy or Ford diesels. Limited slip rear end. Hardly ever was off road and pretty much the worse it has seen is a muddy dirt road. This is my daily driver. If you have ever been interested in one, I think you would freak if you drove it. If you are into 4 wheeling, a diesel is great for low rpm climbing.

I'm having problems attaching photos so hopefully I will get that problem resolved. Stand by.

Thanks.

Full Service Completed

Service Update: Transmission has been power flushed and filled, differentials drained and filled, transfer case drained and filled. Alignment and tire rotation to be finished February 1rst. Timing belt and water pump/seals replaced. Full belt service. Fuel filter changed. Oil was changed ~1,500 miles ago with Rotella. Dash lights changed. Everything works as it should. My mechanic has gone over the entire truck with me and it is fully sorted.

I literally cannot think of anything else needed. I forgot to mention earlier I'm running upgraded top of the line replacement bulbs in the headlamps so the front lights are now on par with newer trucks. You will not find a near stock one owner, non-smoker vehicle like this. We are solid Toyota fans and we buy them new and keep them a long time.

Valentine's Day Deal

Buy your sweetie this truck and I'll throw in free roses. Seriously, what she really needs is a diesel and not just any diesel but a Toyota turbo diesel. :)

Interest in trade? I've got a built 93 80 locked from factory front and rear. Very nice truck. Yours is pretty sweet, I had a 95 and loved it except my 3.0 was the horrible gas motor. If my sells soon we can talk cash at this point I can only trade.

Well...

I did have trade offers in the past. I'm focused on getting another new 4Runner so that's my goal. I figure a new one or two every 19 years is deserved. I guess the thing that is great about Land Cruisers is that there are so many front and rear bumper options from ARB and TJM available, not to mention the side bars to protect the front fenders. Hope all is well in Kansas City and your winter is short. Suffering here with 70's some days.:)

Sale pending

Sale pending with a serious Toyota enthusiast looking forward to a/c and a quiet ride. Will advise either way and thanks for looking.

Reply to your question

Hey, thanks for looking. Was going to go to Ebay this weekend but intercepted due to current offer. Cash deposit is due in Pay pal per agreement with guy who made nice offer. I will advise you either way. Got a list of people interested. If you want the videos of me running down the highway in a couple of different trucks (our 2011 4Runner, my 1993 Turbo Diesel 4Runner and a 2012 Scion I rented) at 70-75 mph, PM your email address to me. Then you can check out how quiet it is at speed. You can also see the boost gauge working around the 10 psi point. Sound good? Either way, I can also provide you with information on these motors in general in regards to what they are like to own. I've been running the rig in the turbo diesel configuration since January 2006 so I should be a wealth of information, not speculation. Been driving the vehicle itself since it was purchased new by my wife in 1993. Fire away with any questions by PM.

BTW, just noticed the Kimber. Love 'em except mine's blued.

Sales contract signed

Non-refundable cash deposit received today and sales contract signed with genuine enthusiast. Will let you know if any changes but looks like a done deal. Thanks for your interest and if you were still pondering about buying it, he beat you to the draw.

The Scoop

Well, I put it on Ebay because I said I was going to over that weekend. My truck had a really high vehicle score because it is one owner and never had anything crazy happen to it. I was impressed. Posted the ad Sunday night, fielded some interesting questions from the onlookers, then got a signed contract, non-refundable deposit from an earlier looker on a forum. Mid March is do or die time for the deal. Nice guy was serious and slapped down a deposit, which is highly commendable. I respect that. Will advise if things change but I'm rooting for him to sell a vehicle so I can sell him mine. Pretty much just sitting tight, watching life go by for now.

You interested in Surfs, Toyota 4x4's in general, diesels or combinations of all three?

Oh, wow...so if he doesn't buy it, then you just banked the deposit. And I could have my income tax return by then- huhmm.

Vehicle has now sold, effective today. Sale price lower than $11,000 but higher than $9,999.

One owner, non-smoker, non-thrashed on, fully sorted, very recent comprehensive service, full LONG history since new and almost completely stock (except for the turbo diesel thing...)
