for rear inverter install - can I use a ground or do I need to run a ground back from battery ? (1 Viewer)

working to get all the parts for my elec install this weekend - need the collectives thoughts, is running the ground from the battery needed ?? I've got a 1500 watt inverter i'm installing on the passenger floor next to the ARB drawers, that will likely see light duty. I planned originally to run 2 gauge copper jumper cable lead back, as I did in my 80 ..... but there's a bit less room in the channel and I've got 15' of 2 guage in hand.....

thoughts from those that have inverters ?

If you use your frame as a ground you will need to be run a sized jumper from your battery to the frame. Something I would do anyway because the current body ground is only #10. Your present large battery ground goes directly to your engine block only. This additional battery to frame jumper is even more important if you run dual batteries.

Thanks Phil - had planned on that, got a piece of 2ga for the 2nd batt to take to the frame.
