A month ago I posted asking for help concerning where fluid was coming from:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=35187

After extensive driving and monitoring, I have come to the conclusion that the oil seepage is indeed coming from the HG in that particular area only. I found this out by cleanining the area and carefully watching the area over the course of a month.

Here's what I found:
-Slow oil seepage from HG in that particular area.
-No noticeable drop in any fluids over this months time.

Knowing this, I brought it over to the Toyota dealer to have them verify my findings. They did. They told me HG is bad and needs to be replaced: $2205. As an added bonus, they also said there is a leak at the timing chain cover that needs to be repaired: $1885.

My question to you guys:

-Are any of you guys running with slow seepage at the HG? I don't have that kind of money to blow through right now and could stand to wait a few months to save.

What do you think?

Toyota had a terrible time with HG back in the mid 90's. The 3.0 V6 was the worst but many of their other engines had high failure rates. They did offer a "campaign" to fix the 3.0 and 3.4 at no cost to the customer, does anyone know if they did this on flagship LC also?????

My 94 4runner HG let go at 70K miles and was fixed at no charge. My 95 T100 had the free dealer HG install at 90K
