When I do the tranny swap out, am I going to need a different flywheel for my engine than the one that came with my auto tranny? If so, will I just be able to get one from a 60 series and pop it in there? I had completely neglected considering the flywheel until just now :o

Spook,

If you're installing a manual tranny you'll need a flywheel (autos have a flexplate and torque converter) clutch etc. I'm not sure about the bellhousing, you may need one of those, as well as the clutch fork,t.o. bearing and carrier, pilot bearing, hydrolics, pedals etc.... As I recall you plan to swap in a H55f? I bet you can find info on the swap into a 62 with a bit of searching. Good luck keep yer head down and eyes open.

Cheers,
Michael

Okay I wasn't sure if autos used a flywheel with the T/C or not. Think I could just pull one from a 60 series and have it resurfaced?
I actually settled (finally) on an NV4500. The Dodge HD version since that has a 5.61:1 first gear ratio instead of the 6.3:1 ratio of the GM version.
For the bellhousing I'll be ordering the Advance Adapters kit, which also comes with a tcase adapter as well. I'm pretty sure I'll have to get different length driveshafts too, but I'm not totally sure yet (or even really sure how to find out before doing the actual installation). The AA kit uses an FJ40 slave cylinder, and I'm trying to find out if the later 40 series slaves will accept an FJ60's line, since I plan to use a 60 series master cylinder and hydraulic lines if I can. I can bolt in a pedal assembly from a 60 series too, I think. I need to verify that when I get back to the States, but I've got a source for both the pedal assembly and hydraulics if all goes according to plan (can't remember who, but it's someone on this board).
According to AA, I'll need a Dodge clutch assembly for the transmission, and I haven't made sure yet, but I think I can use a Dodge clutch fork and T/O parts as well.

It's getting more and more in depth but the more research I do the more I think I can pull it off. I still need to figure out how much I'm going to have to cut from my transmission hump when I install it too. I have a feeling I won't be able to do that until it's actually installed, sans shifter.

How about install FJ60's bell housing and clutch master & slave cylinder with flywheel for 2F or 3F ?
Mine is Non-USA FJ62 with manual transmission and found that all clutch component is same with USA FJ60 as well as bell housing.
Only thing which different is flywheel but I suppose it could be cross-usable with 2F and 3F.

Oh, Min Seok

I can't use an FJ60 bellhousing with the NV4500. I'll have to get a bellhousing from Advance Adapters, and that's made to use an FJ40 slave cylinder. If the 2F and 3F flywheels are interchangeable, that'd be a big help, since that's what I'm mainly trying to figure out.
