Does this valve look like it has proper orientation?

I’ve pulled lines off the charcoal canister and blew into each line. No obvious blockage as I was able to blow into it with a little difficulty which I attribute to the caliber of the line. Same for line coming out of the valve by vapor thing in rear

As long as that valve will let air flow pass from vapor separator > to > charcoal cannister, you are good!

Contemplated replacing that, one for sale on mud.
Wonder if this would be decent swap?

Thoughts on using different gas cap?

Thoughts on using different gas cap?
I grafted a later model Toyota thread-on cap filler neck onto the lower portion of the OEM filler neck to prevent the spillage that factory FJ55 fuel caps are notorious for. Going this route requires the venting system to be actually venting.
Understandibly, this route isn’t for everyone. The next best would be to source a fill neck with a flat seating surface and a new cap and give that a try.

Valve checked, air flowed in direction it should. I’m still digging here
I just put a little shy of 200 miles on the Pig today. I started with a full tank, and didn’t witness any puking out of the fill hole.
It is also a little warm here today.
I removed the gas cap a few times throughout my travels - no significant pressure in the tank.

Heat index over 100 here today. I’m not leaving house. Been in shop most of day piddling around. Looking for good toolbox and ways to organize all my tools. Took our furniture from CO out of trailer, cleaned and conditioned the couch and chairs. I was soaking mess just doing that. Man ave really progressing!

Canister plugged, they can do that…🤷🏼‍♂️
If someone was constantly overfilling the tank, then yes, they can get clogged.

Can you put air through the canister at the connection for the tank line?
What about at the purge line?
Does either connection have a one-way valve? Does that work?
There should be a vent line on the bottom of the can. The air you put in at the tank connection should come out there.

AFAIK, you can introduce carb cleaner to the charcoal media if say the check valve is sticky.

Likely be next weekend or later tonight, gonna show the wife the shop when they get home from the CSU road trip. I’ll assess the temp shortly but not thinking it’s gonna be in the 70’s

I've only witnessed my pig puking gas one time. I attributed it to overfilling, hot day, parking in sun with full/overfilled tank. I've been careful to not try to get the last gallon in the tank ever since.
