We first got the abs, brake warning lights with the alarm and before we made it home (4 miles) lost all brakes two blocks from the house. After considerable research and not being able to figure out the "Diagnostic" block location we decided to pull the master cylinder assembly.
When we got it out we found the round boot / seal that covers the two screws on the pump motor pigtail was not seated properly and the screws were trashed. With the help of a pair of mini snap-on channel locks we were able to get them loose and remove them. We cleaned up the stationary terminals and the terminals on the wires and applied 12vdc and the motor worked. I have a starter / alt guy that we have used for 30 years so I thought while we had it out we would get him to rebuild the motor. He declined after he saw it because one end of the motor had no thru bolts to the other end like starters do. That is to say he saw no way to get it back together after he opened it up. We brought it home and put back on the accumulator mount and put it back in the truck. We bled the brakes the old fashioned by pumping the pedel with the key in 2nd position and holding the pedel down while releasing fluid with air in it at the bleeders til there was no more air. We used a clear plastic tube over the bleeder and stuck the other end in a plastic juice bottle. Worked fine.

The reservoir was empty when we put the assembly back in the truck. We filled it to the max line with new fluid and topped off the fluid to the max line when we were done bleeding the system.

We get up the next day and the fluid was at the very top of the reservoir. It may have overflowed a tiny bit. We turned on the key and the pump kicked on and the fluid went back down to the max level. Anyone know for sure what is going on here?

I found the Diagnostic block by accident on the passenger fender well. We ran the diagnostics. Codes 5-6 Accumulator low pressure malfunction & 5-2 ?

You overfilled the reservoir. It's suppose to be topped off to the max line with the accumulator pressure discharged. To discharge the accumulator you pump the brakes 40 times with the ignition off. There should be some instructions to this effect on top of the reservoir. The level will rise/fall about 1/2 inch due to charge/discharge cycles. You can clear your Brake system codes by shorting Tc and E1 in that diagnostic block (Toyota calls it DLC 1). IG off, short Tc&E1, IG on, push brake pedal 9 times in less than 3 seconds, IG off and remove short, hopefully cleared the DTCs if there is no hard fault.
