Hey folks,

I took my carpet out for cleaning and found a bunch of empty holes in the floor boards of the truck.

Some are supposed to be covered by my stickers (WTF???) that came off because... well, they are stickers. I got these covered up with new ones, but found one hole under the plastic foot rest pedal right next to the rear doors/rear seats.

On the driver side, the hole is plugged up by a harness leading to the undercarriage of the car. I've had some issues with water getting in through these holes and getting the carpet wet so trying to get all of them covered up.

On the passenger side, however, there is an exposed hole that you can see the ground through without any plugs - see attached pic.

Any idea what the part number is for the grommet to plug this up? I can probably use a sticker to cover this one as well, but would prefer a rubber OEM piece. Toyota part diagrams are useless for this so hoping someone on here has taken care of it and has the p/n.

Are you sure your carpet is getting wet BECAUSE theses are open, or is the interior getting very wet, and the PO pulled all the plugs to keep it "dry"........?

I was missing a "sticker" type plug under the front passenger side scuff panel. See attached pic.

After it rained, the carpet right next to where the hole is was wet/damp (almost directly to the left of where my finger is pointing in the pic below). There was also a bunch of water under the actual kick/scuff plate, which is right outside of the panel. This was not the case on the driver side, where the sticker was still in place and attached.

I didn't check to see if the rear was wet too at the time, the whole carpet smelled like ass and I ended up pulling it all and taking it to get cleaned and dried.

But I think it's safe to assume that having a hole in the floor board while driving over wet surfaces will cause the undercarriage and the floor board to get wet, which is why I am trying to plug up any open hole in the floor board.

My sunroof leaks so bad, I pulled a plug on the passenger floorboard just so it could leak out on its own......

Ensure you aren't getting water in through the windscreen rubber seal, or through either of the front door rubber seals. All of those are very common places for water to get into the body through.

Also, those 'sticker' covered holes in the body work are not covered with stickers to prevent water getting in - they're covered because they're something that is there for some sort of factory option that's not implemented or fitted.

I actually have the rubber plug right at the front of the inside-body channel running down the RHS removed because I get water inside and have not tracked down it's entry int the body. I don't want the wiring harness down the right hand side (RHS) of the body shell to be sitting in water. ;)

Sorry what is RHS?

As far as stickers, there are a s*** ton of them in places where I can’t even imagine any options would be installed, for example under the metal brackets that the seats mount up to? There are at least 20 of them on the floor board.

I replaced all rubber weatherstripping on the truck before it rained (prompted by the leak I had in the rear quarter panel mouldings). The windshield one is the very last one that hasn’t been replaced yet, getting done this weekend. So pretty sure it wasn’t from there, plus the water under the one scuff panel that was missing a sticker leads me to believe it’s where the water go through. Thoughts?
