I just purchased an 08 gx 470. I want to flat tow it behind MH. Getting a blue ox base plate and AFO brake system. I need to figure a way to get brake lights to work.

A simple diode kit will work tying into the rear break lights. most kits you can buy from etrailer or other online places will also show the connection diagram in regards to what color means what. I would go with a 6 pin connector on the GX that has the additional 12V line you can connect to the starter battery.

Also you might get more help in IRV2 where the audience is more specific to MH towing.

I don't believe I can post pictures yet until my post count goes up above a certain point, but wiring is pretty simple. I have a high clearance steel bumper so had a good place to mount my 6 pin connector. Not all 6 are used in my case, like the brake control wire, but I do use the 12V line to provide a trickle charge and the other 3 wires are to get me running lights for the rear and turn signal/brake lights by splicing into the existing wiring and using the above mentioned diodes (2 inputs, 1 output).

With a volt meter you can check which original wire coming from the truck powers the running lights and what engages the brake lights.
