my brother is putting an fj80 rear axle into his buggy, its one that i got from campoj2 awhile ago, but it doesnt have any calipers or rotors on it, if any of you 80 guys are replacing your brakes anytime soon let me know, the rotors dont have to be in great shape since this rig is offroad only, if ya have anything to get rid of that would be great;p...$$ is an issue right now or else i'd just buy new rotors and reman calipers from napa

thanks -john

Are the front rotors different from the rear? I think I have a pair of fronts brand new laying arund some where.

yeah the fronts are completely different, the rears have a really deep 'tophat' and are machined on the inside of it for the drum brake parking brakes, and btw this axle is from a 94, full floater, im not sure if it makes a difference

I may have a set fairly soon. I have to address my rear brakes--they just squeaked by inspection but at least the pads need replaced. Not sure about the rotors. Let me price parts and if the rear rotors make sense, I may just replace them along with the pads.

How soon do you need them?

im hoping to have the rig done by the end of march, my brother has it out at school putting the different axles under it(changing from 40 axles to the 80 rear and a widened fj60 front)...i'll be bringing it home march 20-21 and will be finishing the little stuff then

Hey, I just placed a parts order. But I only ordered one rear rotor because the driver side was replaced just a year ago and I doubt it needs replaced again so soon. Rotors ain't cheap. Ouch.

So, as soon as I do my rear brakes, I'll have one rotor for you . . . Will that help you out?

Brett

yeah that'll help out:D...if you're coming here on the 22nd to wheel/cut trails, i could pull your 80 in the shop then and put the new parts on for ya if ya havent done it by then;)

Careful what you offer--I'm getting the parts to service the rear passenger side axle, too, including the SST! :D I'm not replacing the wheel bearings but I am replacing the seals.

I'm still planning on being there on the 22nd.

ok, so repacking one side wheel bearings, and replacing a rotor, and all the brake pads, that'll take what...an hour?;p

Hey, if you're willing to help, I'm even willing to show up earlier than everyone else to knock it out! You name the time and I'm there!

I don't pass up :wrench: help when I'm a half  dumbass.

I'll bring diff fluid and bearing grease...and a chainsaw. . . where the heck is that chainsaw smilie?
