Ive been looking for a Land Cruiser etc for a few months and havent found exactly what i want yet but have found a fj80 w/o lockers with low miles and a fj w/ lockers that has a blown engine.

my question is can you simply switch the pumpkins and associated actuators from one to the other or is it easier to switch the entire axle?

The elocked axles have provisions for the actuator. So you would have to swap the entire axle.

Most people just buy ARB's. Locked cruiser axles are just as much $ wise, and still have 150k+ miles on them. You would also have to swap all the electrical associated with them.

There are cheaper alternatives, depending on what you plan to use the rig for.

The only reason I'd stay with elocker toyota is the ability to lock in case of malfunction from motor. Arb has a good track record for reliability.
