FJ62 Transmission lockup....

On the XJ I just sold, the easiest way to tell if the Tranny is locking up on the highway was to maintain an even speed and tap the brake, when you hit the brake the tranny would unlock and the rpms would jump up a bit...the FJ doesn't do anything when I do this....

I'm used to Manuals aside from the Heep and this, so I'm a lil lost....

Just watch the speedometer and the tachometer. With a gentle throttle accelerate up through about 53mph and you will see the rpm's drop as it locks up. Sometimes letting up a bit on the throttle will help it along.
