Looking for any help I can get, I’m on the search for a used transmission. Having a hard time finding something that I feel like I can trust. I’m on the fence about just going to a transmission shop for a rebuild, tracking down a used transmission seems much more cost effective. But I’m pretty new to this so any help is greatly appreciated.

shipping to Alalska won't be cheap either, probably as much or more than the used trans.

what is your trans doing?

Mark Whatley may have a lead on something, think he is in Wasilla??
 
I’m pretty sure the transmission oil pump is bad, the transmission whines constantly even in P and N. Also the last time I drove it, I started to feel the transmission slip. I spoke with Mark when I first noticed the whining. He was pretty busy then, and suggested going to a transmission shop for a long term fix, may need to reach out again.
 
I have an a440f I just pulled out of an 80 series. Has the correct bell housing since it was behind the 3FE (also pulled). 165,000 miles. Not sure if there’s any big difference between the Fj62 and fj80...
 
I’m pretty sure the A440 from the 80 series is not a straight swap. If I’m not mistaken the transfer case is different and the output shaft on the 80 series is longer than the one from 62s. Thanks for the offer though!
 
there are 2 listed on Spokane craigslist, but again shipping won't be easy to AK
 
If you end up going with one of the above mentioned ones in Spokane, but need more time to figure out shipping or getting down here to pick it up, I'd be happy to hold onto it here for you in the mean time.
