I have a 85' fj60. I rebuilt the carburetor do to idling and acceleration issues. Once the carburetor was removed I found that the diaphram for the secondary was shot. I replaced it and all other components in the carburetor. I did the plugs, wires, rotor and cap at the same time. Fuel filter is new as well. Now it runs pretty good. However, the fuel in the sight window for the float bowl empties after about an hour and I can smell the presence of fuel when starting up. After removing the air cleaner assembly I can see fuel vapors in the choke side barrel of the carburetor. I discovered this while trying to tune the carb because it is still idling a little rough at 700rpm. Also, now since the diaphram replacement I can feel the secondary engaging whiile pushing the accelerator and moving into higher rpm which is great but I also feel a brief delay sometimes while accelerating like the motor is missing. I don;t think the motor is missing it feels carburetor related. If anyone has some insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Is the jet into the float bowl sticking? Did you inadvertantly bend the float flange so the bowl
doesnt' fill correctly?
Other than that I got nothing. Good luck.

FLOAT

I don;t think so cuz when the engine is running the gas sits at the half way point through the sight window.
