I was wondering if anyone out there knew where the VIN was stamped on the chassis of a FJ60. I'm heading to the US tomorrow to look at buying one, since it's cheaper to buy a clean truck from the States and drop my 2H and 5 speed in it than do the body work to restore mine.

Trouble is I have to be able to confirm the VIN in three locations in order to register it in Canada. I scoured my HJ60 and found it on the dash and B pillar on the driver's side but I can't locate it on the frame. Typically it's on the passenger side near the front bumper, at least it is on my '72 FJ40. Suggestions anyone?

Passenger side near front bumper is exactly correct.

There's a VIN on the windsheild, "B" pillar and in the engine bay.

The frame VIN is engraved in the frame rail NOT a plate.

I imported five trucks into Canada and I never heard about the "three different locations" rule. Who gave you this information?
