8/84 the driveshaft flange bolt pattern changed. Unless you plan on using the flanges from your old transfer case easier to match the style your driveshafts have. The idler shaft changed from 34MM to 38MM 4/86 That will not effect usimg one as long as you have all the gears from the same transfer case.
