I'd like my stock 87 radio to work. I can buy one, or if you can give me a lead to fix mine, it would be awesome.

Thanks

What's it not doing?

Sometimes all they(many old hi fi ) need is some deoxit worked into them to clean up the contacts and other parts.

Look for cracks in the solder... You may need to reflow the solder to fix any breaks. I revived a couple that way.

Thanks. I'm gonna open it up and check it out. Right now the lights are on but nobody's home

Does the FM light flicker as you turn the tune knob? Most of the cracked solder joints occurred at the connector. Might be just a bad speaker connector. Inspect the wiring harness connector where it's soldered to the printed circuit board. That would be my first place to look.

Yes, I can actually get it to stay on. but nothing through the speaker. is there any way I can test the speaker output with a volt meter

Yeah.... or maybe an old set of head phones? I'd just reflow every joint on the mother board at the connector on the back. The weenie soldering irons will not cut it. Make sure you can get a soldering iron that gets hot enough and stays hot enough to do the job.

I might be able to help

Do they work? Mine is the 3 FM button model. Not sure if the ones you have are 2 or 4 channels?

447xpro...I'd buy one of your stereo decks for my '87 60. Just looking to put one in my dash and run the actual stereo from my center console. PM me if interested in selling one of those. Thx

I sent him a message--waiting for response. I know he is busy.

Got mine repaired and upgraded locally. Works awesome, so much better than replacing with a single din.
