I’ve been having a really annoying problem lately that i’ve been trying to chase, the car will run fine and i can plant my foot without any negative effects while it’s still warming up, but after an hour or a couple hours (it’s completely random) of driving the engine will start to miss, and acceleration goes down the drain but almost exclusively at high rpms and under load, it’s most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd when gaining speed and in 5th at 2500rpm on the highway. makes driving in traffic horrid and if i plant my foot it gets super bad. however after this happens it seems to still idle kind of fine-ish if not a tiny bit more grumbly

it seriously feels like an overloaded dryer in the car. There have been one or two times when i’ve been going uphill and it’s been doing this and it feels like the engine completely doesn’t fire, it will jerk forward and backfire.

so far i’ve replaced:
dizzy cap - old one had a lot of white deposits on the contacts
spark plugs old ones were fouled and one or two had white-ish deposits?
fuel filter
cleaned up the points - nothing too extravagant just a little sand

also note: upon cold start the car needs me to hold the accelerator a little bit above idle to prevent stalling and i need to let it run for a bit before i take off otherwise it s***s itself and dies, also when i come behind the car while it is idling i can occasionally hear a little sputter from the exhaust pipe not pure smooth idle.

i’d really appreciate any help as it’s making the car undeliverable. thanks guys!
