Anyone regret installing their snorkel, want out of it???
I know that most on here really like their snorkels, whether it be for functional reasons or aesthetic reasons. What I want to know is if any of you out there regret installing it, and if so, why? Also, would you be interested in getting rid of it?
The reason I ask is because I have a fender on order to replace the one I damaged in an accident, and thought it might be a good opportunity for someone who wants out of their snorkel. You would send me the snorkel and fender and I would send you the fender + cash.
Anyway, this is both a wanted ad, but also a technical question. If the mods see fit to move it, I'll understand, but I really do wanna know reasons for regretting the fitment of a snorkel.

I know Junk and others have pretty much said this till their blue in the face but now I can vouch for the truth of their words. The biggest problem/issue is the absolute constant gawking, pulling up to you with the window down shouting, walking up to your truck, saying "Hey, what's that?" "Is that your exhaust?" "Where did that come from?" It truly is enough to make you crazy. I thought it was an exaggeration but I've only had mine on since mid-November and I'm averaging over two a day! No joking. I've had people almost slam into me on the freeway. I came out of the grocery and a guy was standing on my slider looking down into it.
I've also not noticed the "chick magnet" part others cite. Instead most women I encounter associate it immediately with a deficiency in something between my legs.

Interesting development - I ordered an exhaust flange for my 02/80 from $OR and they sent me the wrong one - sent me one for an earlier year as the flange has the exhaust pipe welded to it - about 18 inches of pipe there or so.
Since I got it for free - its yours if you want it. Just cover the shipping. I am in NJ.

problems solved daily...
get rid of the snorkel and you'll have people asking you "what's with the 2 small holes on the A-pillar"

Yeah, the guy says (as they're about to enter the river), "Don't worry, I have a snorkel." And then they show the tires underwater spinning on the rocks. He forget to get diff locks.
not sure where you're at... but I have an exhaust manifold that I just cut out of my 55 in exchange for headers... your welcome to it but I doubt you'd want it for what it would cost to ship. not sure where you're at, but if it's southern california you can save it from the scrap heap.
