I own a 1987 FJ60 with minor modifications: Weber Carb, electric fuel pump; TPI supplied distributor, coil, wires, etc.. The truck runs strong, and smooth.

I've owned the truck for the last 8 years. For five years it was a daily driver, but is almost always used for family transportation since I hate my wife's Volvo.

My problem =

1. Since this winter, the truck has been hard to start. I assumed some problem with the electric choke on the Webber Carb. I had two different mechanics rewire and adjust, etc.. Now the truck will start except on abnormally humid or wet mornings.
--I checked the obvious: distributor cap, etc. for moisture--nothing
--I sealed, attempted to seal the distributor with "fogging spray", no solution.
--I've checked and rechecked connections from battery/coil/distributer/carb.

Your advice will be appreciated.

Di-Electric Grease

Since it sounds like it could be moisture induced (hard to tell with the mods though), wipe a small amount of di-electric grease around all areas you want to keep moisture out.

Good luck, Gordo
