Lift Gate and Rear Quarter Panel Glass.
How tough could it be? Any Pointers?

I've never done the lift gate, but I have done the quarter glass and the split rear door glass before. You need a good rope to pull it around the molding, but other than that it should pop right it.

Make sure you have a helper just in case you lose your grip... the glass can get pricey. :)

I've done the lift gate :D

Best tip I have gotten is put the gasket on the window glass. Get a cup of dish soap and water, lube up the gasket, string, and window "lip". Insert the string inside the gasket (all the way around, ending in a corner), wrap the excess around a screwdriver handle, so you are pulling with the handle instead of the thin string. Have someone outside the car pushing the glass against the car. Pull the string out of the gasket inside the car and the gasket will pop over the lip of the window. You may have to wrestle the last few inches with something, just don't bend the body lip.

Is this really a job that is worth it as a DIY? The glass places in my area are great, and usually very cheap.....

Sorry, just my 2cents

I was quoted $75.00 each, seemed a little steep to me.
Just looking at it doesn't seem that tough and I'm all about the DIY anyway.

Thanks for the tips ya'll.

Yeah do it yourself. I did my rear quarters and rear hatch with my paint and lift gate replacement. Use plenty of soapy water and patience. I think the worst part is reinstalling the lockstrips after installation. I watched the pros do my windshield and they used larger diameter rope than I did. maby that will make it easier?

Any ideas on where I can get the rear hatch glass? I have looked at SOR, cruiserparts.net, etc. Appreciate the help!
