Dave you might want to check out the title of this hread again :)

an 80... or at least look at them seriously. i dont think you will be able to get into a classic cruiser for under $5k that you will be able to enjoy with out a lot of work. when you consider the amount of free time you have after work. 1st come sarah and jack, then the house, then fun time. if its more fun to drive in a truck with them than it is to work on a truck with them, IMHO, it is better to buy something less classic.

dont get me wrong, i LOVED clifford and he was not even "classic" by most standards. you know he was a well maintained truck but after 3 hours in that thing on a trip the GF was tired and cranky and quite frankly, i was a bit fatigued from driving it.

i would say get randy to get his buddy to sell you that 80 and be done with it. i think it is already lifted, 33" tires? that thing is ready to go.

this is my last plea... after this i will consider all 80 talk :ban:

aell the playstation and all games to make up the extra grand:)
seriiously though if he has not sold it yet I am sure he is negociable. I believe it was on 35's not 33's and lifted. it was not regeared though. I think it would be a turn key too.

I feel I have a vested interest now in getting you in a cruiser :) you sent me to a lovely mud hole to look at a redneck pig in which I had to cross a flooded stream and be greeted by a 100+lb rottweiler and the darkest pair of German shepards I have ever seen. my dog Belle stayed in the car and I think she was alright with that.
actually the property was very cool the recent rain had wrecked havic on there poor driveway but you could rock crawl in the woods behind the house. the dogs were pretty laid back but the sign at the entrance tohte property read
"Beware of Dogs
do not exit your vehicle
Honk your horn for assistence"
very nice people though

Dave, I might shoot over to RI at some point over the next couple weeks. I don't know where Greene is, but I will venture to guess that it's within 15 minutes of Providence.

edit: didn't see it was sold. Sorry.

Dave- I might have something for you. A decent 40 with no rear seats. Good shape. It was one of my imports. I didn't have enough paperwork for the title so I dumped it on my mechanic for cheap. Lost a few $K on it. The paperwork showed up 2 months later. My mechanic has it and his wife nags him for having too many cruisers. I'll see him tomorrow and ask if he wants to dump it back. Think it's a 1972 but can't remember. Runs well. Has the old style rear doors. Should be in the $5K range.

I have a deal in place to buy this pending first-hand review and test drive on Sunday. :) :) :)

After seeing what else was available in my minuscule price range, this kept rising to the top.

I won't say more until it's home in Vermont, don't want to jinx it.

I'll buy it from you in a year!

Lane

You gotta get sumthin to fill in that empty signature line under your TLCA number. Good luck Sunday!

Well, a rather ugly stomach flu is ripping through the Morin household so no trip to Rhode Island today. I'm sending a deposit on the camo 55 though and it's all but a done deal. I've reserved the right to change my mind on final inspection but with Jason driving it for me and all my questions answered, I'm 99% decided. Hopeful I can get it home next weekend.

The current owner (a teenager) has never adjusted the front drums and it sound like that is all it needs (they aren't self adjusting) I'll turn the drums and adjusted them and make do with that until I collect parts for a DB swap. She'll get a tune up and reroute that exhaust with maybe some quieter mufflers.

I'm going to hit up the local junkyard for some buckets and put in all new seatbelts from Wesco for safety.

Once the weather warms and dries up we'll be painting here at home.

Sara is partial to Smurf blue and white, which happens to be it's oem color I beleive. Like this....

Here's pumpkin as John has suggested, pretty nice but I doubt we'd go that way, just not my thing. http://ads.cruizers.com/images/public/IMG_1476.JPG

It's going all white first then we'll decide from there, I really like all-white.

MMMMMMM, Pumpkin!

I vote pumpkin. Just because you're the one buying it doesn't mean that I don't get to pick the color.
