From the Cragslist posting that J sent me. Showed the pics to my wife and she looked like she threw up a little bit in her mouth ;) so I don't think it will be coming to Vermont. :)

No affiliation, just passing it on.

Good Driver. Needs brake work. Engine runs smooth (10,000 miles on rebuild motor)—Toyota 4 speed (Manual)—No Rust really, just some spots where the paint is flaking because it was painted by hand.—Good condition for 74 R1 Vehicle

If it's really rust free it's probably a steal.

So Dave is it that she isn't digging the camo or just the style of the 55 or both?

The camo for sure, she's seen pigs before and likes them for the most part. Fact is I could bring it home and she'd deal as she really doesn't care so much about "my" truck...as long as it isn't a family-budget strangler. It's nothing a cheapo MACCO paint job couldn't cure. :) :)

Need to get my truck solf first, I think I picked a bad week for ebay (holidays). Going to do some sprucing up and try again next week.

I can understand the whole need to get the truck sold first. And you are probably right about being too close to the holidays. Other than the camo the 55 appears in pretty nice shape. Maybe their price will go down if they don't sell it quickly. What is it about your truck that she doesn't like. I think the 4Runner is sweet.

A camo 55 has Dave written all over it! (You old redneck!)

She likes the 4runner just fine, we both do, just want to get something a bit more "classic."

Basically shes just indulging my constant changes of heart and short attention span. :)

I know that truck.

That truck belonged to a customer of ours. He sold it to the current owner almost a year ago. Im not sure who did the "restoration" but in the past few years we did do some work to it. Two years ago, we installed a new clutch and a used 4 spd and a few other things. He took care of the truck when he owned it and it did run and drive very good when he sold it. The body was in pretty decent shape. It had a few small rust patches, but maybe they have been repaired.

not sure where he got it from

I dont remember where he bought. but I will ask him. He owned the truck for over 10 years before selling it last year. BTW. The tires and wheels must be recent because the truck always had 33x9 bfgs on stockers while he owned it. The crome tips also must be a new too, cause I never saw those on it either.
All in all ,I remember it was a good running cruiser when he owned it. If its in the same condition or better then it was, then its worth the 5k.

joe,

Do you remember if it was disk brakes up front? they said it needs "some brake work" and I'm trying to access what that might mean.

Should probably be able to get the price down a bit too if its still for sale.

Nope , Last time I saw it, it had drums all around. We did put a good used 4spd in it though.

Got some more info:

Drums all around

The rear tail gate works. The window motor still works correctly as well.

The paint is just chipping on a few spots where the panels meet because it was hand painted.

Still runs excellent. Drives excellent. Brakes have been completely redone in the past, but I believe they need adjustments. (Since I didn’t dive into the brakes, I really don’t know positively)
