i am just getting started in the fj45 area so go easy on me fella's...i just have a couple of questions.....for now .... are the majority of 40 parts interchangable with the 45?...i have searched and read about everything i can find on the fj45swb and can't seem to find what is and what isn't interchangable...the parts i am most interested in are axels...springs....that type of part....is there a site that would identify factory colors for these vehicles?.. perhaps a history site?thanks

For the most part you'll find the 45 parts the same as an FJ40 of the same vintage. The spring would be the same as you would find on an FJ45 wagon. The frame is the same as a 45 wagon as well with a few exceptions. I haven't added the 45 pickup information to root45 yet but I plan to. I do have some factory scans up of the swb if that helps.

thanks tree and johnny...i have been to the route45 site...very well done and informative....i will anxiously await the addition of the 45 pick up to the site....i will be picking up my 45swb next weekend...i am anxious to get it home and start planning the repairs....some of the work i have seen on these trucks and the wagons is great!...thanks

Also from what I understand the front springs are the same length, etc. from a FJ40, however the rear springs are a different length. Most body stuff up front is interchangeable from the firewall forward, also doors, windshield frames, all of the obvious. One thing is the early / late thing... the SWB was I think imported from 63-67 therefore the early doors etc is what you'd be after. I've got some good pics if you'd like me to email some to you.
