Can someone post a picture or two of were the TOP CAB hold down latches are located on the inside rear wall for the earlier FJ45's.
I am considering installing a set in my 1982 FJ45 instead of the 12 or so nuts and bolts. Kind of want to do this before we paint witch coming up soon.
Also any info on were maybe they can be bought, new or used (hopefully).
Thanks much.:steer:

there are five of them that latch the hardtop backwall to the tub. There is one next to each door latch, and then there are 3 on the rear wall. The 3 on the rear wall are located at the vertical support. Here are a few pics. One pic shows how the latch looks near the door latch. All 5 are the same type.

Latches

Gentlemen, I wish to thank you for your information.
From what I see is that it is possible, but from what hear the parts are very rare and I can believe that from my experience.
I will now reconsidering the use of a Toyota part and will start gathering information on using alternative latches.
Your photos are a big help along with your info.
Again, thank you and good luck in your quests.

The J hooks are available post market from someone here on mud for I think $25 a pop

Latch

Thanks, I did check in the archives on this but cant find much in the way of reproductions or aftermarket types.
Oh well...:)

Latches

Yes I believe I saw these latches while scanning the net. They are almost identical to the latches we have on our helicopter accessory cases.
I did notice that on the newer 45 models is has a hump on the inside near the drivers and passengers door latches, unlike the flush insides of the earlier models. This will pose a problem for a latch. In this case I would elect to install the 4 corner cab top bolts.
Sorry the one picture is a bit out of focus.

Latches

Tancruiser, that is a kind offer, and I believe I may even take you up on that, but I hate to ask but what do they look like? McMaster Carr has several types.
Thanks
