I think you need to find a donor early FJ40. Try Mike Goodnight on this forum. Very fair guy and super nice.

If you want a real nice redone heater try Shane (aatlas1x@aol.com)

I am buying a redone heater from Shane. His stuff is the bomb.

Just a FYI a 63 would not have a factory installed heater. 64 very few and 65 seems to be about half. So your 63 will only have the defrost vents in the windshield. Not that a 63 couldn't have a stock heater installed. Just not easy. Other than the heater/blower of the after market units the rests was just wiring with a switch and rubber hoses.

What are your looking for?

Like I said, I've got everything except the defrost elbows.

Am I missing something here. What defrost elbows? The one for the stock OEM heater 64 thru 67? Besides the fuse panel being in the way isn't the vacuum shifter also in the way of the blower motor on a 63? I know on my early FJ40s they are.

I guess I should dig out my defrost elbows and put them with the rest of my rubber parts I've got stored away. They aren't in the greatest shape but I guess there are as good as any hen's teeth I have:rolleyes:

That would be them.:)

They called me about the heater last week, and I went over the whole thing about the fuse block/wiring harness/ hole in the firewall with them.

Best

The other thing I remember is the Vacuum shifter mounted on the firewall is on the outside of the brace as compared to inside on the later sixties/early seventies. I remember noticing this on a 63 FJ40 in a junk yard. I later bought this cruiser which is a 63 model but 62 production date.
