I have been investigating this FJ43 on Ebay for a friend. I found someone in Miami through the clubhouse section who's trying to take a look in person. Any insights you guys may have based on the post would be appreciated. I do know it's from Columbia and has no heater. I believe the speedometer is also in Kilometers. Can that be switched?

Nice looking rig. I am sure you can swap out the speedo, or I would get one of those reprinted labels that adjust the mph for the tire size you have. I did that on ol' blue and it really looks stock, and my speedo is correct.

from what i can tell ya from looking at foreign trucks.. it probably has drum brakes on the front.. I'd REALLY want to verify if it indeed has an H55 in it along with a splitcase.. looks like some rust hiding from my little phone pictures.. doesn't say how many miles are on it.. not much maint has been done to it EVER.. look at the top radiator hose.. thats the original hose.. it's ready to BLOW.. old original hose clamp still on it..
lots of seepage along the top radiator seam. .. it doesnt state how or what power steering is in it.. some weird heater style box where the blower should have gone.. and strange enough it has the old 75 and older booster on it with an fj60 style master cylinder.
I'd ask for more details and undercarriage shots.. pedal assembly to see how they shot it.. just a respray?
anything else they know about it..
is it a points distributer or electronic? what hubs are those? i'm not familiar with those..

ya can't yet.. i can "barely" get here from work.. it crashes my machine most of the time and have to kill explorer.. thus i'm not posting much.. I have to cut and paste the link above and email it to myself to goto ebay on my phone.. kinda a hassle. im not sure how to make a link on my phone to open mud on the web.. only know how to get to the web. i need a teenager to help me with my phone i guess. Haven't tried the tapatalk thing yet.. maybe i should .

just use your phones browser. It loads the mobile version of the website. Works just fine and you can get to the clubhouse pages.

So the one originally listed is no longer for sale. However, what do you see in this one? I am still waiting on better pictures, and I have a fellow MUD member in Miami willing to take a look in person. I did at lease confirm, to the best of my ability, it is not one of the several scammers from Columbia.
There is no heater and the box on the firewall I'm told was for jacks, etc. (Theft prevention)
There are no front turn signals
For a 1980 the booster looks small and there is only one brake fluid reservoir. No discs or power brakes??
Boots on shifters look funky. Possible non stock tranny/transfer??
Good deal of corrosion on top of the radiator.
What else am I not seeing that I need to be on the look out?

But wait, that's not all. For almost twice the price here is one sourced via a reputable MUD member in the UAE. Any insight on this one? He's been out of town so additional pictures will also be forthcoming.

Booster and single reservoir look fine. There is not a lot of room and the master has a valve on it if the front or rear goes.

On the first one that is a funky roof. Did they all have those vents. Also the body line down the side in the roof about 6 inches up from the tub -- had not noticed that before.

bandarante top kelly.. I think.. some jungle areas got a different vent option too.. I think there was a vent in the back that helped to bring the air thru..
i just don't get why you'd spend all that money to bring in a 2f.. probably points distributer and drums but not much of a description or a picture of the vin tag.. that little tag tells a lot..

i'd go for the second one.. desert, no rust. didn't you want to sell your red one? just sell your buddy that?

Erik, It was My Green One That I Wanted To Sell, SoThat I Could Buy The Red One. And It Sold To A Guy In Branson. I Have Waffled On What To Do With The Red one, Because It's In Worse Shape Than I Thought. But, Rhonda, As My Sister Named Her, Is A Keeper.

My Friend Loves landcruisers, But Will Not Be Tinkering With It. That's Why The 2F Works So We'll. She Can Take It To Toyota, Or The Corner mechanic For Service.
