Good morning cruiserland. I have a huge dilemma. There comes a time when a man has (not by choice) to chose between selling his fj60 or fj40. Fist the 60. It is a 1985 60 with 123K on original engine and it is in awesome condition no rust at all and no modifications. I have driven it from Colorado to New Mexico in the summer with AC on and it was an awesome experience. I am actually attached to it, if you can't tell already.
Now the 40. I just bought the 40 about three month ago. I have looked for one for a long time and I found one with very little rust. It is a 1969 1F, with miles unknown. Compression is great on all six cylinders, it has front and rear lockers, it has about a three inch lift. I have wheeled it around my yard just climbing on a huge rock and it was awesome. I am looking forward to the summer where I can take the top off and explore Colorado.
Given the above circumstances, can you help me?
Thanks for all inputs.

PS. Neither are my DD

My advice to you on the subject is to stay with the vehicle that is going to fit your needs, do you need the vehicle to be your DD or is it strickly a vehicle to go and play in? My 40 is my DD and I can honestly say that there are days that I would love a 60, because of their increased driveability. On the other hand when I am off road in the mountains, nothing is greater than having the top off my 40 and just having fun!

not to be nosey, but why do you have to sell?
how much $$ do you need?

i think you'll regret selling either one.
i was going to sell my 40 a couple of times, and had it up for sale a couple times.
only had to come to my senses after a day or two and realized how much i'd rather keep it, than sell it for alittle cash.

money is'nt everything, but your cruisers will last forever :D

and i still have my 40 and my 60 :)

If these are you only mode of transport....sell the 40.

Might want to share a little more background....

If neither are you DD, depends on what you want to do with them. If you have family, kids, dogs, keep the wagon (although my black Lab would argue for the 40). Ultimately, you have to decide what to keep.

There really is no comparison, the comfort zones are at there extremes. I'm biased and Iwould say to keep the 40. But if you have a family or/and need to get around in even to do a little exploring, the 60 will suit you just find. The fj60 is more than capable to go wheeling in too. Good Luck.

It sounds like you already have a future planned with the 40, and you don't need that comfy Fj60 because you have another driver. If you are too attached to the 60 though, you can mod it to do what you want too, but not if you are already in a financial hurt locker.
