IRRC that nut is for a different style of seat belts. A shorter one on a cable. A friend of mine used to use them, he liked them more. I'll see if he remembers.

I know the ones you are talking about.

I'm reusing existing lap belts for now. I got them mounted for now.

Use a sawzall and flapper disc. Dewalt brand are by far worth the money. No sparks. GL

Thanks for the tip... I plan on buying flapper disc / blade tomorrow (dewalt it is).

Still hope I can get a nice flush cut on the floor surface if that make sense.

The saw zaw really helped a ton. The flapper disc still sparked but not as bad.

Everything is cut flush.

Tomorrow night is install!

First observation when I set DS seat in: does not quite sit on tub surface as flush as I thought. The triangle piece on outside DS has about 1 - 2 inch gap. It did seem to all go into place when I sat in the seat, but I do have some initial concerns with how it fit in and the alignment of it all.

I'm going to install PS tomorrow and have two people sit in there to see if all the attachment point fit a little better.

Is this pretty normal? Any feedback?

Poor pic quality, but FYI

Johnny: I had fire extinguisher near by from your feedback

I got DS installed. On first test drive I immediately see why people have the seat extension kit installed.

Anyone in Raleigh area have that extension kit installed? I'd like to take a look to see if I want to do it eventually.

Looks good.

Re: seat extensions - I'm pushing 6'3" 240lbs and I managed w/ the OE setup. Daily drove it for a few years in college, and even 90% of the wheeling I've done was that way. Don't know why I never got around to that mod. Guess lockers, rust repair, propane setup, etc took precedence :D

I know it has been several years since you did your seat project. Are you happy with how they finally turned out? I am starting down the same path right now. Your thread has been super helpful. Would love to see some finished pics if you still have the 40.
