A gentleman by the name of Ed Sands is part of a worldwide group called the Institute of human origins which is located art Arizona State University. It was founded by Dr. Johansen which found the 3.2 million year old bones of Lucy , The "missing link", in Ethiopia 1974. This find rewrote the history books of human evolution.
In April they will celebrating the find with a Big Gala at ASU and will be setting up a cool exhibit in front of Old Main with the recreation of the original dig site which Mr. Johansen used a FJ40 Land Cruiser (of course!). Mr. Sands reached out to the famous "Copper State Cruisers" (Googled it?) to see if anyone was interested in loaning/renting/etc their Fj40 for the day. You would be of course invited to attend the gala if you wanted and get a free meal if desired.
Hopefully someone might be interested and reach out to Ed Sands at 805-895-146five to work out the details of this event being held on Friday April 7th. This group actually raised a bunch of money to send a Land Cruiser to Ethiopia to help archeologists there several years back so they had something reliable to drive. So we know they're good people lol.
I would love to see some pics of the final exhibition. Id let them use mine but Im thinking a more stock looking one would look more appropriate in the display? Thanks
