Hi all,

I have found a 77? FJ40 that was driven to the the states by a previous owner.
This owner is long gone. The paperwork was left in the glove box and eaten my rodents.

I talked to NYS DMV and they told me with no previous paperwork. I have no chance of getting any.

It's like it doesn't exist to them.

I don't think that's the final answer.

It seems to me that if its not stolen. There should be a way of getting papers for an abandoned car.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Interesting truck. It's a heater delete. And it still has front drum brakes with a single master cylinder.
It also has a nice roof rack with ladder.

It's damaged, but runs and stops. A project for sure. But I would be interested if I can get papers.
Otherwise it's just parts.

Thanks,

Joe Walters

Im not sure about NY but in TX you could do a "bonded title" and have it registered.

I appreciate the tip.

I will have to see if they have anything like that here.

When calling the DMV you can get 5 different answers if you talk to 5 different people.
It's very frustrating when you get into something unusual.

Hi. It was Venezuela if I remember right. It wasn't Columbia.

I moved on from that deal. I did some checking and couldn't find a easy answer.

I'm not sure if it's still around or not.

I still have the vin number. FJ40 239867

Thanks,
Joe
