I'm in Wylie. Thanks for offering assistance. I could definitely use some help along the way. This afternoon was the first time since I got it home to look at it closely. The 40 needs a lot of work. I am not real familiar with 40's so I'm gonna do some research on MUD and spend time over the next couple of weeks getting acquainted with her. Maybe I'll tow her to the meeting...

UPDATE:

After some review of these two trucks and some good advice, I have decided to pull the 2F from the 60 I got and put it in the 40. The 60 will take some work to get it road ready and I want to focus on the 40.

I will more than likely sell the 60 without the engine as apposed to parting it out but I have not decided fully on that yet.

I am in the market for an SM420 or SM465 transmission and a 3 speed transfer case (73 or newer) if anybody is looking to sell one.

Thanks for the offer Russell. The seats are in good enough shape but I am considering going with a bench. Not sure.

You need to contact Todd Yonkman (LSLC member) at (817) 845-3121. He us upgrading his white 73' FJ40 into a buggy w/ 1-ton axles, Chev. engine, and has the complete drive-train including a SM465, bell housing, the works... Also has front & rear differ. w/ lockers & disc brake conversion. All for sale !!!!
