Ever since i bought my '40 i have been under the impression that the A/C in it is factory, but I have never even seen a factory A/C to know what it looks like.

Can anyone identify whether this a/c is factory or not, and if not who makes it? The vents came from an 80 series, and the switches have been moved to accommodate these, but everything else on it is the same as when i bought it.

Also, when reassembling the front of the unit, I accidentally broke the temperature switch, and am not sure how to fix it. The switch had a kind of copper tube coming out of the back of it, which is what broke Does anyone know how a switch like this works and how to fix it?

you cant fix the copper tube. there is a preset amount of gas in the tube and bulb which activates a pressure switch...

any a/c place should be able to source one, as well as napa.

I had a feeling it might be something like this... I think i might just take it to an a/c place and have them fix it.

Thanks for your help guys
