FJ25 Paint

On the original FJ25's, was the speedo/instrument cluster cover painted silver or was it body color? Was the glove compartment door silver or body color? Can anyone help me figure out what should be silver, for example the door hinges, mirrors, seat frames, etc?

Getting ready to paint the 1960 and want to make sure I get it right the first time. Thanks, Rick

All the fj25's i have seen via photos and factory literature, the glove box and speedo/cluster cover are the body color.

[Living in the Past]

Silver? Not sure anything on the FJ25 was silver/pewter. Speedo, glove box, gas tank, seat frames, vacuum wipers, frame, bumpers and wheels were painted body color. Axles, transmission, transfer case engine and engine comparment were painted black. Whne in doubt paint it body color.

I have been searching for the holy grail of Fj25 paint codes and haven't come up with it yet. Here is some cool info that lists 58, 59, 60, and 61. We will need to verify if any of these are Land Cruiser or not though.

Interesting that the 61 book shows all but two of these colors as metallic.
