FJ Key Fob on eBay

Alright, you FJ Cruiser Maniacs!

I'm seeing a slew of FJ Cruiser Key Fobs on eBay. What's the deal? The sellers claim these are for new owners, whereby the VIN of your new FJC can be etched onto it?

Why are there so many out there? Tony Soprano intercept a truckload? FJTrailTeam giving them away at events? Other? (The majority on the auction list generated by "fj cruiser" were in Oregon.)

I would like to know if I could score a couple freebies, before sliding money into someone else's pocket.
